Ross Paterson - Advertising Space

Ross arrived at the studio and confessed to being slightly nervous, although his wife Laura also joined us and she was three weeks away from child birth, so we had to make the comment that recording a few songs was, to be fair, a walk in the park compared with what Laura would soon be going through! Ross took the comment in good spirit and was all smiles throughout the entire session. Phew....

Another very thoughtful - and it has to be said, unusual set of songs, was the order of the day. First up, the great Jamie Cullum cover of Everlasting Love got Ross off to a great start. He then went from strength to strength, with tracks from Take That, and Eric Clapton also getting a look in. Ross then bowled us over with a first for us - a singer covering one of the less popular Robbie Williams songs! Rather then the usual choice for guys (Angels, of course!!), Ross chose Advertising Space - from the very underrated Intensive Care album. His confidence was at a high by this stage and it was a pleasure to work with someone choosing such an original song and pulling it off in style.

After the small matter of settling into life with their newborn, Ross and Laura promised to be back for a day session for Ross in the near future. Watch this space....
