Album Track from 'The River's Too Wide'
song - 'Living a Lie'
Middle C Productions - session late 1999

The first project to be undertaken after the Middle C Productions studio was built in 1999 was the recording of Nigel Hobbs's first solo album - The River's Too Wide. The album was an eclectic mix of brand new compositions, and two fan favourites that Nigel had written in his days with Walk The Wire. This track is a powerful ballad which never got recorded by the band and so Nigel saw it as a perfect opportunity to put it on the new album.

Nigel played and recorded all instruments - drums/keyboards/guitars & bass, before asking the original Walk The Wire lead vocalist, Paul Watkins, to sing the vocal.

Instead of merely recording the song with the same arrangement as was used live with WTW, Nigel decided to give the song a more soulful feel and added some haunting orchestration.

Should you like this and the other tracks we've included from the guests page, the CD is still available from us here at Middle C - email for details.
