Graham New and his wife Vera joined us for Graham to redeem a birthday recording session bought as a present by his son and daughter. We had already spoken to son Edward late last year and had been told that Graham was always the first up to the microphone at weddings, family parties or on holiday, so we harboured no fears that Graham would be shy in the studio! During our meeting with Graham he told us of how he and a few guys from school had formed a band and, after trying a few instruments, decided that front of stage behind the mic was where he felt most at home. From that time, then at college, and later in his rugby playing days, the Chuck Berry classic 'Johnny B Goode' was his firm favourite and has now become known as his signature song. We were really impressed at how Graham attacked the song right from the off and then, after having bagged a few takes, he suggested dropping a few lines from 'Route 66' into the guitar break - and it works a treat! So enjoy the sheer enthusiasm in this version of a great slice of rock & roll history....
